Holly Ashcraft Strikes Again?

Once again, Holly Ashcraft is under suspicion of infanticide.

A 21-year-old USC student charged with her baby's abandonment and death this week also was investigated last year after she arrived at a hospital in downtown Los Angeles appearing to have just given birth but without a baby, according to law enforcement sources close to the case.

Investigators never found the body in 2004.

In the current case, Ashcraft, of Billings, Mont., was arrested Wednesday and charged with murder and child abuse in connection with the alleged abandonment of her newborn son in a trash bin near her apartment north of the USC campus. Police said the child was born alive but placed inside a cardboard box and deposited into the container. A homeless man picking through the trash discovered the child and called police.

As Independent Sources points out, California has a "Safe Surrender" law, which would have allowed Ms. Ashcraft to take her baby to any site designated as a Safe Surrender site without fear of prosecution or arrest. (The law only applies to infants three days or younger, who have not been neglected or abused.)

There is not a single comment anywhere at all about finding out who they are and nailing their buts to the wall. Did they try to help her when she was pregnant??? Remember, this was no immaculate conception.

It is incredibly presumputous of you to assume that Holly got pregnant by being a whore who slept with drunk men at parties. I think anyone who has ever had an unplanned pregnancy would take offense to your comments. What Holly did was wrong and she obviously made a horrible decision in disposing of her baby, but don't make assumptions as to how she got pregnant. That is incredibly ignorant. Yes, to assume Holly was a whore and got pregnant from getting drunk and having sex is ignorant but was she sober when she commited her crime? As a mother at 19 I believe she had to have been on somthing unnatural to put her newborn baby in a box and leave it for dead.I did not expect or want a baby so young either but it happened and now I have her life to look forward to, holly on the other hand may never get to experiance such a miracle. i knew holly as a classmate and colleague - she was no druggie or whore. for anyone to assume such things and pray that she be imprisoned or rot in hell shows his or her narrow-mindedness. reconsider passing judgment on someone you never knew, except through the media's inaccurate portrayal. this crime should raise questions and awareness that could actively change the way we deal with unwanted pregnancies; not create vicious attacks and further ignorance. I do not agree with the way her pregnancy was handled, and no one knows what she was thinking or going through, I will not pass judgments on something that I do not fully understand, I hope others can be mature and objective when considering such cases.

Whether her baby was stillborn or alive. She still "got rid of him". How could she. A well educated woman knows better. No matter what her situation was, she had no right. The courts will deal with her and she will live with her actions for the rest of her life (preferablly in jail).

As a father of a newborn, it brings tears to my eyes to think about the baby involved. That poor baby who starved to death and was frightened beyond imagination. Coming into this world is scary enough for a baby and to add the neglect and pain on top of it that was caused by his mother is just heart-wrenching. Perhaps most of us don't know Holly as former classmates, etc. And perhaps we don't know how she got pregnant. But that is irrelevant. The point is -- she gave birth to a baby and that baby ended up dead in a box that was taped shut. That doesn't happen by accident. Whether she got pregnant by mistake or intentionally, people who become parents take on a responsibility to that child whether they like it or not. What she did is disgraceful and she deserves a like punishment. Hopefully she will be taped shut inside a box as well (her prison cell).

I have 3 children whom i cant stand being away from for more than 1 hour. my first of which i had at 19 yea i had to put my life on hold thats what happens when u open up your legs and dont use birth control. Stupid bitch deserves whatever punishment she gets.
