Gary Condit's Spawn Step In It

The good folks over at Independent Sources note that former congressman Gary Condit's children are carrying on the family tradition of public scandal:

The Fair Political Practices Commission has accused Chad and Cadee of taking money that was originally raised by their father to explore a run for state office and illegally spent it for personal purposes.

... Among other misdeeds, the Condit children are believed to have paid themselves $226,000 for producing a family film about their father but ended up not producing it or doing any other work. Once again, such activities are typically reserved for those in office.

The FPPC noted that the checks and balances in how the money was spent were insufficient in that Chad was the treasurer and authorized the payments to himself. They also noted that neither of them had any experience in film making. He also gave himself and his sister a Christmas bonus of $3,000 each.
