The Republicans seem intent on self-destruction by voting against your First Amendment right of free speech.
David Keating, of the Club for Growth, issued this statement:
“Legislators aren’t satisfied with their ability to control who votes for them through their partisan gerrymanders, but now want to control who says how much and when about their performance in office.
“Clearly, this is just a first step in completely shutting down any praise or criticism of Congress. If politicians have the power to do this to 527s, they also have the power to regulate speech by any other nonprofit group or business association.”
So who needs the U. N. controlling the internet when you have a bunch of venal Republicans doing the job for them?
While only 7 Democrats assaulted your rights, 211 Republicans voted for H.R. 513. The Club for Growth lists the names of the 18 Republicans who did the right thing. (A huge black mark for Congressman Blunt, who voted to restrict speech.)
Save The GOP says Cowards, all of them. (I have to ask, can the GOP be saved?)
